Summer Research Internship Program 2023

Mission:
To encourage undergraduate research, CCC announces a Summer Research Internship Program during the summer vacation period of 2023. The main aim is to provide an opportunity and exposure to outstanding senior-level (2nd /3rd /4th Year) undergraduate students. B.Tech-M.Tech Dual Degree, M.Tech, PhDs and working professionals are also encouraged to apply to interact with the world-class faculty members and state-of-the-art research facilities of the institute.
Interested students from NITs, IIITs, IITs and other reputed central/state institutions from all over the country can apply. The offer will be selective, based on academic merit and SOP (Statement of Purpose).
Area of Research: Cognitive Computing, Computer Vision, Affective Computing, Emotion AI, EEG, Natural Language Processing, Machine learning and Deep learning.
Requirements:
Interns are required to involve themselves in the research and development work carried out by IIIT Allahabad under the supervision of Prof. U S. Tiwary under CCC.
The interns are required to upload a Statement of Purpose (SOP) for applying.
The selected interns will be required to do the research/development work as assigned at the designated laboratory/place.
At the end of the training, the interns will be required to demonstrate and present their research work before the designated committee. The interns will also be required to submit a report duly signed by the mentoring faculty member (guide) to the SRIP Coordinator.
The internship is offered in three levels as per the duration opted by the candidate:
Level 1: The duration of the internship will be of 4-6 weeks.
Level 2: The duration of the internship will be of 6-10 weeks.
Level 3: The duration of the internship will be of 3-6 months.
Level 2 and 3 students are expected to write a research paper after completing the internship.
The internship completion certificate will be issued only after the successful completion of the training.
For Indian students:
Application Fees: NIL
Registration Fee:
Level 1 : Rs. 5000/ + 18% of GST i.e. Rs. 900/ = (Total Rs. 5900/-)(Fee is non-refundable)
Level 2 : Rs. 8000/ + 18% of GST i.e. Rs. 1440/ = (Total Rs. 9440/-)(Fee is non-refundable)
Level 3 : Rs. 10000/ + 18% of GST i.e. Rs. 1800/ = (Total Rs. 11800/-)(Fee is non-refundable)
Starting date for the internship will be in two slots- 2nd week of May and the last week of May 2023.
Date of Submission of Online Application: No last date for application. Students can apply throughout the year (no deadline for application).
Note:
1)This research internship is organised by the Center for Cognitive Computing (CCC) at IIIT-Allahabad. IIIT Allahabad may also separately organise the internship program, but this program is separate from that.
2) In case the selected candidate doesn’t get register within the assigned date, then his/her seat will be assigned to the next preferable candidate.)
For Foreign Students:
Application Fees: NIL
Registration Fees: All the selected interns are required to pay the normal academic fee of USD 200.
(Note: Some students will be given a fee waiver. If required, they should apply for it at the time of registration.)
Duration: 6 (Six) to 8 (eight) weeks normally; however, the period can be extended if required.
